Spencer’s at the Waterfront Wedding, Burlington
Laura and Peter chose to have their fall wedding at Walton Memorial United Church, Oakville and their reception at Spencer’s at the Waterfront, Burlington. It is fair to say these two share a special kind of love; the kind of love that endures distance, and makes sacrifices. Laura and Peter share a love that is both patient and kind.
A few months before this couple got engaged they moved in San Diego, California, but decided to celebrate their wedding in Burlington because of the memories they share there. We were lucky, having only communicated through email, to get along so well with this beautiful couple. Their openness and willingness to go along with our creative vision made for some stunning photos.
At the ceremony, the bride wore a gorgeous strapless gown with a ruffled skirt while the groom and groomsmen wore classic black suits from Tip Top Tailors. This fall wedding was beautifully decorated with an elegant theme inspired by fall colours. Plush flowers created bouquets and arrangements made of purple and mango calla lilies, red roses and dahlias, and red and orange spray roses, which complemented the theme and the season perfectly. Wedding portraits were taken at Paletta Mansion, Burlington, which was great for taking photos of the wedding party. This charming mansion is on an exquisite lakefront property with multiple gardens.
The reception at Spencer’s at the Waterfront was held in a sleek, modern building overlooking Lake Ontario. The couple stayed true to the fall theme with fall coloured centerpieces by Kaity Ramsay. Their cake was designed by Chef Don of Dessert Trends in Toronto. Looking at the pictures, you can see how breathtaking this scene really was. A signature detail, that’s worth mentioning, was the couple’s guest book.
“My sister’s boyfriend designed an image of a heart, with a map of the Burlington area on one side and a map of the San Diego area on the other. Our guests signed the matte around the outside. It was a meaningful way to bring together the two places that have been important in our relationship,” Laura says.
Thanks again to Walton Memorial United Church, Spencer’s at the Waterfront, and the Paletta Mansion all in Burlington.
