Allie & Pete: Engagement at Kew Gardens, The Beaches, Toronto

Allie and Pete chose to capture their engagement at Kew Gardens, The Beaches, Toronto. This is one of many great Toronto photo locations we use for engagement photos. The Kew Gardens is located in the heart of Beaches, Toronto, and offers many backdrops that are pleasing to the public and useful to photographers. This beautifully maintained park contains gardens, park benches and gazebos, and a vast sandy beach. It  also hosts a number of outdoor community and special events, making it a hotspot in the summer. 

We were very optimistic about this diverse location and so were Allie and Pete! They were wonderful to work with and took direction very well. Looking at the photos, you can see Allie is a natural! We were able to shoot some compelling photographs of her lying on the sandy beaches. It is great to shoot a couple that enjoys the process and has fun in front of the camera.

During this shoot, we had also envisioned a lot of these photographs in black and white. We think the photos converted to black and white are absolutely stunning – especially the individual portraits. You can never go wrong with black and white; it does a great job of simplifying the photograph. It makes the subject easier to focus on by highlighting shapes, light and shadows. Plus, black and white photography gives the photo a classic look that is timeless.
